Terms of Service
Last updated: 3 November 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of Widepost ("we", "us") for the use of the Widepost desktop application and this website. By installing or using the app, you accept them.
1. What Widepost is
Widepost is a Windows desktop application that keeps a local record of which videos you have published to which platforms. It does not upload anything on your behalf, does not connect to your accounts on other services, and does not control those services.
2. Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Widepost on devices you own or control, for your own publishing work.
You may not:
- resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the app or a licence key;
- remove or alter copyright and licence notices;
- reverse engineer or decompile the app, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- use the app to break the rules of any platform you publish to.
3. Beta versions
Beta versions are provided free of charge, as they are, for evaluation. They may contain defects, change without notice, or be discontinued. Beta versions may not include every feature described on this site.
4. Your records and backups
Your records live on your own computer, in a file in your Documents folder. You are responsible for backing them up. We cannot recover data that is lost through disk failure, deletion, or an operating system problem, because we never receive a copy of it.
5. Paid licences
When paid licences are offered, they are sold through Paddle.com, which acts as the Merchant of Record. This means:
- the contract of sale for your order is with Paddle, and Paddle handles payment, invoicing and any applicable sales tax or VAT;
- the price shown at checkout is the price you pay;
- Paddle's buyer terms apply to the transaction in addition to these terms.
6. Refunds
If you are not satisfied with a paid licence, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase. Write to hello@widepost.dev with your order reference, or use the refund link in your Paddle receipt. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Nothing here limits any statutory right you may have as a consumer in your country.
7. Updates and changes to the product
We may release updates, add or remove features, or stop distributing a version. Existing licences remain valid for the version they were purchased for, and we will not remotely disable an app you have installed.
8. No warranty
The app is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. You use it at your own risk, and you remain responsible for your own publishing decisions.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid for your licence in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost content, or missed publishing schedules.
10. Termination
This licence ends if you materially breach these terms. On termination you must stop using the app and delete your copies. Sections 8, 9 and 11 survive termination.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence still apply.
